Overview
Looking for a rejuvenating and exciting way to spend your May break? This trip is open to all Monroe University students who are ready to explore new cultures, serve with intention, and grow in community. You'll partner with local Icelandic organizations for hands-on service work, engage in reflection and conversation around purpose and future plans, and take in Iceland’s unforgettable landscapes—from waterfalls to volcanic landscapes. Whether you're new to traveling or a seasoned adventurer, this week offers a unique opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and connect with others in a whole new way.
What You’ll Do
✔️ Work alongside a local nonprofit focused on environmental sustainability and climate action
✔️ Support projects like reforestation, beach clean-ups, and land restoration in partnership with Iceland’s forestry and conservation efforts
✔️ Explore Iceland’s stunning natural wonders—from waterfalls and black sand beaches to volcanic cliffs
✔️ Build friendships, grow in confidence, and connect with Icelandic and international volunteers
✔️ Learn about new cultures, sustainability practices, and your role in caring for the planet

Participate in a Short Interview – We want to get to know you and make sure it’s a great fit.
Submit a $250 Deposit – This holds your spot (financial aid may be available).
Check Your Passport, Pack Your Bags, Meet the Team! – But don’t worry, cause we’ll guide you through all of these!
