Overview
Step into a summer that grows your confidence, deepens your faith, and stretches your sense of calling. Start in Boston with team training, then serve in Iceland alongside local church leaders.
The Summer Discipleship Program combines leadership formation, hands-on service, and Christian mentorship. You will train on a college campus near Boston, then travel to Iceland to serve with community partners. Each day includes mentoring, small-group discussions, and time to reflect on who you are becoming. You will return with fresh confidence, stronger relationships, and practical tools to live your faith with courage.

What You’ll Do
✔️ Train with your team in Boston — leadership workshops, challenge-by-choice activities, and theology sessions
✔️ Run a summer camp with our church partners to be Christ’s hands and feet to the local community
✔️ Practice daily reflection through journaling, prayer, and small groups led by Compass mentors
✔️ Explore Iceland’s landscapes — waterfalls, black sand beaches, and vibrant local culture
✔️Grow together with a cohort that celebrates, challenges, and supports you

Register by November 15 — so you’re set up for the best fundraising season + priority for aid
Complete a short interview — get to know us, practice your Icelandic (kidding)
Submit your $250 deposit and launch your fundraising page and tackle some paperwork
Travel and serve — we’ve got all the details covered, you just need to show up!

💵 How much does it cost?
The total cost is $2,400, which includes a $250 deposit. Most students fundraise the full amount well before the trip.
🎓 Is financial aid available?
Yes. Need-based aid is available on a first-come basis. To be eligible, apply by November 15 and engage in fundraising. Aid is designed to supplement, not replace, fundraising.
🧳 What does the cost cover?
Everything from arrival in Boston through your return from Iceland: airport shuttle, housing, meals, training activities, airfare, ground transport, service supplies, and program materials.
📣 What if I’ve never fundraised before?
Perfect — we’ll coach you every step of the way. Compass provides a personal fundraising page, templates, and strategies. Students who start early consistently meet their goals.
👥 What if I’m nervous about not knowing anyone?
You’re not alone — about 90% of students arrive not knowing anyone. 100% leave with a friend.
📱 What is the Compass cell phone policy?
Presence is one of Compass’s core values. To help you fully engage, we collect phones at the start of the program and return them at the end. Students often say it becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their experience. Staff are always accessible, and daily updates are posted on Instagram for families and friends.
