Elevate Your Leadership
in Iceland
Join us June 13–21, 2026, for an unforgettable experience in Iceland designed just for Lexington Christian Academy students. Compass invites you into a week of service, spiritual reflection, and exploration. With breathtaking landscapes, unique cultural experiences, and opportunities to learn alongside international partners, this is more than a service-learning trip—it’s a journey into deeper into Christ’s calling for your life.
This service-learning adventure is open to Faith in Action Captains who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2025-2026 academic year.
EXPLORATION
What makes the perfect adventure? From Iceland’s iconic waterfalls to off-the-beaten-path adventures, we’ll immerse ourselves in the island’s natural beauty—while also engaging with its people through co-learning and hands-on service. You’ll hike dramatic landscapes, discover local highlights, and learn about the land, culture, and values, all while contributing to local initiatives that care for the environment and community.
REFLECTION
Amid the rush of daily life, it’s rare to find space to pause and reflect. On this trip, you’ll have time set aside for journaling, Scripture, and conversations about faith and purpose. Through guided practices and honest conversations, we’ll explore how God is at work in your story—and where that story might be headed.
CONNECTION
This journey is shaped by the people who share it with you. In Iceland, you’ll deepen community with your classmates, build trust with your leaders, and form cross-cultural connections with international partners. These relationships—rooted in shared purpose, service, and faith—will last far beyond the trip itself.
About Our Partners
During our time in Iceland, we’ll collaborate with organizations committed to justice, sustainability, and community.
Worldwide Friends is a nonprofit focused on environmental restoration and cultural exchange. They lead volunteer efforts in reforestation, coastline cleanup, and global connection through hands-on service projects.
The Salvation Army Iceland is our local church partner. We’ll worship with their community in Reykjavik, gaining a deeper sense of how faith is lived out in everyday life across cultures.
What do we actually do when we’re in Iceland?
In Iceland, you’ll partner with local organizations that have been building community and addressing real needs for years, from environmental work to compassion-based ministry.
But Icelandic culture isn’t driven by checklists. Service here often looks different than in the U.S.—less about tasks, more about presence. You might spend part of the day cleaning up a forest trail, sorting clothes at a ministry center, or picking up trash from a remote beach. Other times, your role might simply be to listen, learn, and show up fully for your group and the people you meet.
At Compass, we believe curiosity is a form of service, and presence is a gift. Whether you're working with your hands or engaging in conversation, you’re invited to show up with purpose, humility, and a willingness to grow.
This trip isn’t about accomplishing. It’s about growing—together, in faith, and in purpose.
